The idea for Hummus Falafel Refugees was born in 2012 after Ahmad and Zahrah visited Gaza on a humanitarian trip. They were shocked at the conditions that the Palestinian people were subjected to from all sides. They met a number of refugee families in Gaza and felt that it was important to make sure that the stories of these individuals and families were told.

Hummus Falafel Refugees is a joint photo/object exhibition that looks into the lives of individuals displaced due to armed conflicts in Palestine and Syria.

Hummus Falafel Refugees is full of stories which display immense resilience and courage in every day lives of refugees living in Lebanon, Gaza, Egypt, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

The aim of this exhibition is to highlight the issues concerning refugees from the Middle East and to raise funds for organizations who help and support them.
